About Me

My name is Bryan Horsting. I am twenty four years old. I was born and raised in Tulare, California. I graduated from Tulare Union High School. While I was there I played water polo and swam year round for a club team. Upon graduation I attended the College of the Sequoias. I went there and was on the college swim team. After a year there I took a break to pursue a goal of mine to join the military. In September of 2010 I went to Marine Corps boot camp. I went to communications school in Twentynine Palms, California after of completion of bootcamp. After graduation from Comm school there I moved to my permanent duty station in Camp Lejeune, NC. I was stationed there from 2011-2015. During my stint in North Carolina I did many training operations throughout the United States. I also deployed twice: my first tour was to Afghanistan in 2012 and then to Romania in 2014. Throughout my time in the military it helped me mature quite a lot and was definitely a very instrumental part of making me who I am today.

In 2013 I met my wife Lacie who I married in late 2014. When I finished my time on active duty my wife and I moved from North Carolina back to California. Before we got married she was attending school here in Sacramento so we chose to move back here so she could finish her degree without having to be set back by transferring schools. This was fine with me because I didn’t mind where I started school again as long as I was able to start working towards my next goal which is to become a Registered Nurse or Physicians Assistant. Starting at school again has definitely been a new experience for me, very different, because there is no one forcing me to become a successful person in society. But, I have very much enjoyed this new found freedom I have in being a civilian again and attending school. I look forward to the challenges that school will give me as I take new classes, learn new ideas, and expand my knowledge.
